When you enroll with NICWM, you join professionals from around the globe who are following their dreams in sustainable waste management.

In today's competitive work environment, earning an advanced certificate to become a Chartered Waste Manager is the first step to a highly successful career. NICWM presently offers Advanced Diploma Certificates and Workshop Programs in:

  • Professional Executive Workshop in Waste Management and Sustainable Environment
  • Professional Certificate in Circular Economy and Environmental Sustainability
  • Professional Certificate in Smart Technology and Waste Management
  • Professional Certificate in Small Business Management
  • Professional Certificate in Operations and Technology Management

Our innovative, context-specific programs are developed to train professionals capable of transforming Nigeria's waste management systems and advancing the circular economy. The curriculum blends academic rigor with practical, industry-relevant training — including waste-to-value transformation, environmental governance, community engagement, and entrepreneurship for sustainability.

Participants gain expertise in handling municipal solid waste, plastics, e-waste, organics, and industrial waste, applying circular economy models for resource recovery, recycling, and innovation. Strong emphasis is placed on practical research skills including waste characterization, environmental sampling, pollution analysis, GIS mapping, and life cycle analysis.

Graduates qualify for Graduate Membership and progression to Chartered Waste Manager status. An optional UK Experience Trip exposes selected participants to international best practices through industry visits, academic sessions, and lectures from UK-based waste professionals.

This program fills a critical skills gap in Nigeria and supports sustainable development by equipping a new generation of professionals with the vision, tools, and credentials to manage waste as a resource.
